The marriage of excellent instructional design and the ability of the trainer or faculty member to successfully present the required materials is the crux of providing students with the best learning opportunities.

As a community college professor, I have seen terrific courses in theory-along with all the technological bells and whistles, yet the instructor was totally unprepared to actually teach the course. This is devastating all around.

In my particular environment we require that all faculty engaged in continued professional development and instructional design. This focus over the past few years has made a tremendous difference in the quality of both on-ground and online education at my institution, and has greatly enhanced student success and retention across all disciplines.

instructional design

It was enlightening to read about Langevin ID. I think willingness to learn and refresh the knowledge is what makes the people to participate. Increase in the knowledge quotient gives the appreciation and value for the training. Since human psychology is almost same and predictable with a categorically placed or grouped individuals, training with exposing to imaginary and hypothetical situations will be result yielding. “Repeat focus” on goal setting, approach and outcome will help train the minds to achieve the objective.
